CINCO DE MAYO (RATED R):
Directed by Rafa Lara and with actors Kuno Becker, Angelica Aragon, William Miller, Liz Gallardo and Christian Vasquez, who are part of this movie released this last friday, just in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I find great pleasure that our movie industry releases a movie that goes in depth into our roots and culture as a Mexican. Cinco de Mayo is perhaps the most important battle in Mexican History. This movie describes a true story of the famous and historical battle of Puebla May 5th 1862, when the legendary General Ignacio Zaragoza, with less than 5,000 men and not sufficient ammunition, defends the city of Puebla against the invasion of the well organized and powerful French Army. As history was marked, Zaragoza led his men to fight for their city and their freedom. This is a great movie with a lot of culture and historical meaning a must see! A story of courage, hope and glory.
LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED (RATED R):
Susan Bier is the director of this great movie released this past weekend in theatres, and it´s a movie that tells the story of the real life that we live in. Actors Pierce Brosnan, Trine Dyrholm, Sebastian Jessen are among others who bring to the big screen, the powerful meaning of love. A story of a woman who is battling her cancer and finding out that her husband has a mistress who is much younger than him. On the other end, a father by the name of Phillip who has not seen his only son for years, but is going to attend his wedding. Both Phillip and Ida meet at their kids wedding and even though they seem not to have much in common as time progresses both parents believe that this marriage among their children perhaps is not the best choice. The connection between them will soon lead them to a unity of comprehension and commitment. In the end love seems to be the cure to all the problems.
