THE BROADWAY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND IN LOS ANGELES OCTOBER 2-4

The Broadway International Film Festival Los Angeles (BIFFLA) aims to bring back focus and interest to the Broadway corridor of downtown Los Angeles. As part of the "Bringing back Broadway initiative". BIFFLA accomplishes this goal by focusing on the importance and the historical significance of this area, by bringing a major event in which artists, political and city leaders businesses and the community unite. The purpose of the festival includes reaching all aspects of our community with the focus of placing Broadway as a cultural center of film diversity and a platform for the exposure of important topics that affect us all, with the opportunity for both emerging and established talent to showcase and publicize their material. The Broadway International Film Festival will take place at L. Ronald Hubbard Auditorium located at 8039 S. Vermont St. in Los Angeles 90044. BOYLE HEIGHTS ARTS CONSERVATORY CELEBRATES BETTO ARCOS RADIO CAREER

This Wednedsday there will be a big celebration for the 20-year anniversary of Betto Arcos’ work in radio in Los Angeles . A native of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico ,  Betto Arcos  is an independent radio producer and host of KPFK’s world music show “Global Village”   Betto himself will host the celebration. Performances by: Cimarrón – Jaropo music from the plains of Colombia Changüi Majadero – From Guantanamo Cuba San Miguel Perez “El Tesoro Moderno” son Cubano tradicional Tickets are available at the door, $25 donation.
